General Questions
How is the resort and hotel situated in relation to the island?
Papagayo Beach Hotel and Resort is located in the south of Curaçao in the vibrant Jan Thiel area at Jan Thiel Beach.
Can I park at my accommodation? What is the rate?
Papagayo Curaçao offers several parking spaces around the hotel and resort. Papagayo Beach Hotel has a guest parking space behind the lobby, and Papagayo Beach Resort offers a private parking lot at each villa with a max of 1 car per villa. There are also possibilities to park your car in the area. Outside of the property, fees may apply.
Is there Wi-Fi available in the villas, rooms and on the beach?
Guests can use the Wi-Fi networks throughout Papagayo Beach Hotel, Resort, Plaza, and Beach Club. Wifi code will be provided by the Front desk
What are the costs for the beach?
Guests staying at Papagayo Beach Hotel or Resort receive a beach pass at check-in, providing free entrance to the Jan Thiel Beach area and access to regular beach beds at Papagayo Beach Club. For beach beds outside Papagayo, guests must pay separately. rates are usually between $5 - $10 entrance fee. Additional chairs and beds have extra costs.
What is the rate for a VIP Cabana at the Beach Club?
At Papagayo Beach Club we offer VIP cabanas to our guests, which can be reserved via events@papagayo.com.
Is it possible to order groceries for our first day? What are the costs?
Papagayo Beach Resort guests can order grocery packages in advance. Contact the hotel for pricing and availability at least 48 hours in advance via reservations@papagayo.com.
I have an allergy/diet or belief and have a grocery package, do you take this into account?
Yes. Inform the team of any allergy, diet, or belief-related restrictions at least 48 hours in advance via reservations@papagayo.com.
How often is the villa and hotel cleaned?
Villas and hotel rooms are cleaned every day by the housekeeping team.
Are there safes in the villa/hotel room?
There is a safe in each villa and hotel room for valuables. Please use the safe as the Hotel or Resort are not responsible for items outside of your Safe.
Is there a gym available?
A gym is available at Papagayo Beach Hotel, with free access for all staying hotel/resort guests. The gym offers individual training, group classes, a sauna, and an infrared cabin. Guests need a sports pass, available at the reception.
Are pets allowed?
Pets are not allowed inside the resort or hotel.
What facilities are available?
Facilities include a supermarket, gym, spa, casino, restaurants at the resort and hotel, car rental options, and shopping opportunities at Papagayo Plaza.
Do you have air conditioning or fans?
Every bedroom in the resort and hotel has air conditioning. Additional fans are available in resort villas. Villa living areas do not have air conditioning.
What kind of outlets and voltages do you have?
The property offers 220-volt outlets.
Is there an ironing board and iron in the villa/hotel room?
Our hotel rooms and villas have an ironing board and iron.
Is there a laundry and dry cleaning service?
A laundry service is available at Papagayo Beach Resort. Laundry tokens can be purchased at the front desk for a small fee, and the dryer is free.
How is the kitchen equipment? Is there a refrigerator, stove, microwave, pans ect.?
Hotel rooms have a mini fridge and resort villas have a refrigerator, both include coffee machine. Resort villas have kitchens with a combi microwave, dishwasher, stove, large refrigerator, pots and pans, Nespresso machine, and standard kitchen items.
Is there a hair dryer?
There is a hair dryer in every bathroom at the hotel and resort.
Are there mosquito nets in the villas?
Mosquito nets are available upon request.
Is there beach towel service?
Hotel has a towelhut located at the Beach Club Restaurant closes at 6PM. Resort towels can be changed at the Resort reception.
*Beach towels at the resort can be changed until 23:00 in the evening.
Traveling with children
Are cribs and children’s chairs available?
Papagayo Beach Hotel offers cribs upon request. Papagayo Beach Resort offers cribs, children’s chairs, and fences upon request.
How many children can stay in a hotel room?
Hotel rooms have a maximum occupancy of two people, including adults and children/babies. Resort occupancy varies by villa, from a maximum of five to ten people including kids and babies.
Do you have bottle warmers in the villa or hotel rooms?
Hotel rooms have kettles. In resort villas, bottles can be warmed using the microwave or kettle.
Is there a babysitting service? If so, what is the cost?
A nanny service can be reserved via the front office or reservations@papagayo.com. Cost may vary
Transportation
Can we book a transfer and what are the costs?
Airport transfers can be booked. Additional costs apply. Requests can be sent to reservations@papagayo.com or arranged through the front office.
I booked through a tour operator but would like a private transfer. Is that possible?
Yes. Guests should inform the tour operator that they are arranging a private transfer. Private transfers can be requested via reservations@papagayo.com.
How far is it to the city?
Papagayo Curaçao is approximately 20 minutes by car from Willemstad, including Punda and Otrobanda.
What is the distance to the supermarket and shops?
The Van der Tweel supermarket is located at Papagayo Beach Hotel and is open daily from 07:30 to 21:00. Papagayo also has shopping at the Papagayo Plaza sme shops are open until 21:00.
How far is the beach?
Papagayo Curaçao is located at Jan Thiel Beach. The hotel is directly at the beach. Depending on the villa location, the resort is within a short walk of the beach.
Do buses or taxis run to town?
Taxis can be reserved at the front desk. There is also a bus stop across from the hotel and resort for local transportation.
How far is the hotel or resort from the airport?
Papagayo Curaçao is approximately 35-45 minutes by car from the airport.
Reservations
Can I get an early check-in and what are the costs?
Standard check-in is 15:00 for the hotel and 16:00 for the resort. Early check-in is subject to availability and a fee based on the requested time. It should be requested at least 48 hours before arrival via reservations@papagayo.com.
Can I get a late check-out and what are the costs?
Standard check-out is 12:00. Late check-out is subject to availability and the fee depends on the requested time. After 18:00, a full night is charged at the standard daily rate. Requests should be made at the front desk on departure day before 10:00.
If we cannot stay longer in the room or villa on departure day, can we shower and change somewhere?
Both Papagayo Beach Hotel and Resort have a guest shower. Guests can sign up one day before departure. Contact the front desk for details.
What are your cancellation policies?
Papagayo Beach Hotel bookings can be cancelled up to seven (7) days before arrival. Papagayo Beach Resort bookings can be cancelled up to 28 days before arrival.
But always check your confirmation in case you booked a non-refundable rate. in that case no refund is allowed
Can villas or rooms be booked next to each other?
Guests can indicate this preference when booking. Papagayo will try to accommodate the request but cannot guarantee it.
Do I need to provide a deposit or credit card authorization?
A deposit is required at check-in. USD 100 for room incidentals and USD 500 if guests want to charge food and drinks to their room. The deposit can be paid by credit card or cash.
Can I request a specific location, such as near the beach, restaurant, pool, exit, without stairs, or on a higher level?
Guests can indicate a location preference when reserving, but the location of a room or villa cannot be guaranteed.
Dining
What are the opening hours of Papagayo Beach Club?
Papagayo Beach Club is open from 07:00 to 23:00.
I have religious beliefs and do not eat certain products but have booked breakfast. Can this be taken into account?
Yes. Papagayo Beach Club offer a variety of breakfast options. Guests should inform the staff of any religious dietary restrictions.
Can refreshments ordered at Papagayo Beach Club be charged to my room or villa account?
Yes, provided a USD 500 deposit was paid at check-in. The charges can then be settled at check-out.
Accessibility
Is there a toilet for disabled guests at the Beach Club restaurant?
A disabled-access toilet is located on the right side of Papagayo Beach Club, under the stairs to Papagayo Beach Plaza.
Is the resort or hotel accessible for guests with disabilities?
Papagayo Beach Hotel does not have specially adapted rooms for wheelchair users. Should be informed when booking. Resort villas are not easily accessible for disabled guests.
Business/Meetings
I am on a business trip. Do you provide printing service?
The front desk team can assist with printing documents. Costs may apply
I am on a business trip and need a meeting room. Do you have one?
Papagayo offers a meeting room with a wireless smart TV, flipchart, air conditioning, fast Wi-Fi, and furniture. Food and beverage options are also available. Costs may apply
Events and Groups
We are getting married. What can you do for us?
Papagayo offers several wedding venue options at Papagayo Beach Club and group rates at the hotel and resort. Requests can be sent to events@papagayo.com.
We want to come with a large group. What can you do for us?
Groups booking at least ten rooms may qualify for special possibilities and rates. Requests can be emailed to reservations@papagayo.com.
Activities
Is there a supermarket and shopping in the area?
The Van der Tweel supermarket is located at Papagayo Beach Hotel. Papagayo Plaza also includes shops, a casino, spa, car rental companies, and a snack bar.
We would like to book an activity. Can you make a reservation for us?
The front office can assist with activity bookings, including dolphin experiences, buggy or jeep tours, trips to Fuik, and other excursions.
Can you dive at Papagayo Beach?
Fundiving Curaçao is located next to Papagayo Beach Club and offers trial dives and PADI courses. Other dive schools are also nearby, and the front office can assist with information and reservations.
Can you make restaurant reservations for us, including restaurants outside Papagayo?
Yes. The front office can make reservations at Papagayo restaurants and other restaurants across Curaçao.
